How much does it cost to put in a spam filter? How do they work? What are these weird e-mails from nobody you know with nonsensical subjects and content and that bounce back if you try to reply? There is one category of these that have the subject (quar). And you can not reply. Is it some way to earn a living for them, or what? And how do they get your addresses anyway? I even got one of these weird things from Sister that said (quar) so I knew it was NOT really from her. I have scruples and principals. I can't treat people like that, not even to earn a living, by sending weird e-mails to some random lists! I cannot send porn or bestiality e-mails to some random list. So how can the purveyors of trash, presumably not caring who they send this putrid trash to, continue to pedal the garbage? I once got one (as no doubt you have as well) that said that if you forward this to fifteen of your friends, Microsoft will pay you, or that something good will happen to you at work. I sent it out, and guess what didn't happen? But of course, the reason may have been that I don't work, or it might be that I made sure that the ones I forwarded this to were not "real friends." But maybe Bill Gates has some way of knowing who your real and pseudo friends are? I tried to call him, but apparently he's sitting on his yacht off Laguna Beach watching the fires? he he he he? This message is an appendix to the Nancy Letters. and it may represent my graduation from Internet 101 to Internet 202? |
