. History shows that Franklin Roosevelt and his associates while knowing war was coming were concerned that Japan should fire the “first shot”, ( though they were terribly wrong about where that first shot would fall). My question is: in today’s world can a country be so patient, ( I say “a country” because my question is influenced by my readings on Israel’s Six Day War when it didn’t wait, and the Yom Kippur War when it did--think Iran)? . |
