It's hard to tell. There are times when that phrase and its variations are repeated throughout the text. In some places, it clearly means Islamic Law, in others, the Legislature, whatever form it takes, will have precedence in these matters. What you give with one hand, you take away with the other. |

I followed the link, found it tedious, at best, to try and follow what was written, knowing that the distance between written and reality is sometimes...more than a lifetime's distance. Thanks, for the link though. I do try to understand, but can't even understand our own USA government's gobble-d-gook stuff. ![]() |

Some fun parts: quote: quote: gobbledygook is a good word for it. |

We should of never been over there in the first place, but since we are there, we can't run and hide. This is a step towards a new beginning. "I have gone away. The bed is cold and empty. Trees bend their boughs toward the earth. And nighttime birds float as black faces." |

2. Citizens' private lives are protected. Citizens may enjoy it in compliance with moral values and decency. No citizen has the right to deviancy in the use of his right or to exercise any of his rights¡¦. LOL, I must be deviant, for I first misread this as: "citizens private parts are protected" OK, I'll quietly go stand in the corner (NOT) |

The only difference I see is that our own continued attempts to legislate morality might seem more natural to some because, well, it's our morality. We're used to it. It's much easier and more acceptable to try to force our citizens to live within our own moral boundaries than it is to stand back and watch others doing much the same. |

I like the due process protections. That, in and of itself, is noteworthy. Jim |

P.S. Unless, of course, you happen to be Israeli. |

Oh, the Israelis are going to like this, all right. If these people manage to establish a democracy that will work long-term, it will be the biggest stride toward Middle East peace in that 60-year race war. That's the biggest single reason for the "insurgency"....the vested interest of so many countries in that region, in keeping the we-hate-Jews thing going as a crowd control measure on their own people. A working democracy in a Middle East Islamic country is a rook-on-the-seventh to them. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |
