“The Rev. John R. Odams, pastor of Pilgrim Church, United Church of Christ, in Boston's Dorchester section, said he wasn't worried. "Emotional terrorism is probably a greater threat to us," he said as he waited for a train. "We need to look at the bigger picture. "It seems there are so many other dangers in our society that end up getting ignored — housing, homelessness, poverty — that are in some ways more threatening," Odams said.” http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,145152,00.html |

No argument there. I couldn't agree with him more. Sincerely, Noah Eaton "You'll find something that's enough to keep you |

I don't think those issues do get ignored, but because they seem to be CONSTANTS, they don't capture the headlines so readily as sudden unexpected disasters, imagined or real catastrophic threats, such as the threat of a nuclear buildup in unstable or 'antagonistic' countries. Of course, which country actually has used nuclear weapons against others? HMMMM, as we call the kettle black..... |

Yes but there's no profit in actually helping the needy who probably don't have oil under their section 8 houses. Poets against the war is redundant |

Quite aside from that, only a few nations know the actual consequences of atomic explosions: Japan, the U.S., and the Bikini Atoll. The rest, some of which consider the prior a political fiction, have no inkling of the true consequences. Russia comes close, but they only had some radioactive steam released with Chernobyl, not an eye-melting blast. |

“Of course, which country actually has used nuclear weapons against others? HMMMM, as we call the kettle black.....” Keeping in mind that both Germany and Japan had nuclear weapons programs at the time and there is little or no doubt, particularly in Japan’s case, what they would have done had they succeeded in developing the bomb first; Japan and Germany, which already had intimate knowledge of deliberately murdering millions of men, women and children in already conquered territories. |

John, so it was OK to bomb/nuke the hell out of Japan because Hitler did worse? |
