Okay so I am really fed up with the ethics of someone who I purchased a textbook from. I went on amazon.com and ordered my textbooks and I needed one book that was really important that I bought that had a CD well any way I couldn't afford the book brand new so I ordered it by the amazon.com marketplace. I got my book a week late, and low and behold. The wrong book was sent. 10th edition I ordered the 11th. It was also a different isbn, and a teacher's edition... now here is the kicker on the book itself from the manufacturer is a notice "NOT FOR SALE" "This textbook has been provided free for an instructer to consider for classoom use. Selling examination copies contributes to higher prices of textbooks for students." So now I get even more ticked off, problem is I want to handle it maturely but I really have never handled something like this on my own before. I got the phone number and called the person I bought it from ($58) So I told them wrong isbn, wrong book can you replace it. I said I needed a student edition with a cd that is what I ordered that is what I expected. They checked to see if it was in stock while I was on the phone. They had it and 3 dayed it so I would get it 2 weeks late for class. I got that book today. Guess what... right edition wrong book still- instructors edition... but it gets worse... no cd. The instructor said we needed them for an important assignment as well as the final. So I called them back and said that I had yet again recieved the wrong book. They are on the East Coast in New Jersey, I am in Washington State. So I said I would call back tomorrow. Meanwhile I get detetive like and got on amazon.com and checked out the persons feedback. It is really good for the most part... but then I found similar issues. I got upset, but then I realised that maybe this was a way that I was going to learn skills to becoming independant. I believe that although this experience has been negative in the sense that I still don't have the right textbook or the fact that I was basically scammed by the bookstore owner. I found something extremely positive. My ability to communicate my thoughts, feelings and disappointment in a way that was not abusive, threatening or childish. I have been able to vent but not like I would have before. Instead of making my parents call for me and let them deal with it I stepped up and advocated for myself. Even though I had to ask for advice on the situation. Thank YOu for allowing me the opportunity to rant and rave. Kellie |

Stuff happens...I hate that! If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Well I got a 50% refund even though they say I have to return the book. I think I am going to have to chalk up a loss and just use the book and know that they will have their time soon enough. |
