Thoughts for a Wynters Eve (reworked) Sometimes, I see you on here. My eyes light up, a smile forms at the corners of my lips. I wonder, just what is it you have over me. What hold that clears my mind, allows happiness to enter even if ever so briefly. For when words, you then type, ease into my thoughts and they say solitude, aloneness, indefinitely, perhaps, maybe, when I think more along the lines of fulfillment, togetherness, closeness, forever and always, an upheaval occurs. Inside, the churning begins. What was once smooth and calm and colored swirls of sweetness, becomes hardened, blurred, roaring moments of doubts. For I, too, understand solitude, the need to be alone. I move between a sunny, warm room to comfort me or a cooler, darkened room to fit the mood and another complete floor, to achieve creative outlets in. I've had my solitude for over three years. My other life before that, so busy, entwined with others, that I never noticed when a day went by. Now, I not only notice, but the hours are so slow, as I sleep more and more of them away, because this emptiness is haunting, shadows me everywhere, trips me on the stairs, bumps into me around corners, wraps me tight in quilts at night, so not one breeze of a cool thought can find its way between the layers of covering, to bruise me with touch. I awaken to the softness of a purring voice or the tapping of her against my cheek wanting of me, to get up and share the moments with her, nourish her and in return receive her warmth against my own, to make me feel worthwhile. I wonder... if she can live another 20 years, to be my companion, to love me unconditionally, to know that I shall not have to dwell in this home alone, passing my shadows in hallways, whispering around corners of my desires, slowly traveling the steps, one foot at a time letting gravity pull me down, to start each new day. These are my sometimes thoughts, overwhelming the others, that say life is wonderful, when you have someone to love and that someone loves you. just thoughts for a ~Wynter's eve "For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul." (J.Garland) [This message has been edited by nakdthoughts (02-26-2002 08:51 PM).] |

Ah, I understand this well.I even have a kitty that gives me love. She and my granddaughter are the only ones. Off the subject, but I had a cat for 20 years, who died 4 years ago, and I have not been the same since. Though I love my new ones, you know? I think it may be the same with love of a man. You never quite let go of a really special one, no matter what. I hope it isn't too empty and lonely in your space. Sanra [This message has been edited by catalinamoon (02-26-2002 09:47 PM).] |

"These are my sometimes thoughts, overwhelming the others, that say life is wonderful, when you have someone to love and that someone loves you. just thoughts for a ~Wynter's eve" (big hugggssssssss) Oh Maureen, this is so very touching, you always express yourself so sincerely and wonderfully! (sigh) I believe we all need times when we need to be alone and understand ourselves more closely and to try and rearrange our doubts into hopes again, for I have spent so much time alone and I feel I have grown wise beyond my years! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, may your thoughts now forever consist of the spring of hope and joy and love! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Maureen, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |

Solitude is wonderful for a season, and I agree, too much of a good thing can come back to bite you...I understand about the kitty...first angel, and now this one. They truly are a comfort aren't they? I loved the rewrite! This one seemed to flow more easily. Good job! *S* (((hugs))) |

Thanks for re-posting this one, Maureen...I haven't seen it before...and it is very beautiful. this emptiness is haunting, shadows me everywhere, trips me on the stairs, bumps into me around corners, wraps me tight in quilts at night as well as very sad. I used to have cats also, but mine were so mischievious that I don't know if I would have the patience for them now in my old age. Its so good to see you back here again! I've missed you and your wonderful poems. ((hugs)) copyright2002 Lyra Nesius "poetry is life distilled" Gwendolyn Brooks [This message has been edited by Madame Chipmunk (02-27-2002 05:25 PM).] |

ThisDiamond, thank you for the compliment *s catalinamoon, I had a cat that was my first and longest one and yes she was so special to me. This one is ok also but is more independent and doesn't need the loving the other did..."I think it may be the same with love of a man. You never quite let go of a really special one, no matter what. I hope it isn't too empty and lonely in your space." Never empty just not filled with what I desire. Maybe I don't deserve a second chance at happiness, maybe the first one lasted longer than most. Victoria, probably don't remember the first one, was last winter I think. *s Silver Streak, you are welcome, and you can read any you have missed by going into search if you wanted. and I thank you for your kindness *s((Newell)) M Noah, my sometimes thoughts can get me into trouble *s Rearranging doubts into hopes again..I like that *s passing shadows *s not sure it was a good gotcha or a bad gotcha but thanks for stopping Cpat, *s thank you friend (hugs) Sy, So you remembered the first? Probably the only one who did. thank you I appreciate your visits. Dulcinea, my cat is a comfort for at least Iknow she will always come back to me with forgiveness and love, no matter what. I live in solitude even if not alone at all times. THank you..it flowed a slightly different direction this time *s Interloper, I thank you muchly. *s If you get lost on the way to my house just ask anyone for me..I am too well known..and it's my side door *w Lyra, Smiling a thanks to you. My life has become sad and twisted due to my openness and acceptance of people, something I should change but it is the way I am. I tend to draw the wrong persons to me, trusting and believing in them. I appreciate your kindness. And I am glad to see you also ((hugs)) AND you can't be much older than I (I am trying to not think of myself as old, yet) Karen, I am drifting too much lately in words, thoughts and deeds. Help me please *s ((big hugs)) to you too Floria, thank you. gave me a ~smile~ hugs Maureen "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less."
