Sisters of the Heart You sistered my sun Though I had one While my sister I’ve loved so long Her thoughts and mine Do not belong You sistered me By want of choice In hold of hands You gave me voice There is no blood Though bonds of tie Unspoken knowing In see of eye A sister of selection In mirrored reflection You’ve held my heart Taken a stand And then in quiet Took my hand Do you, in quiet Solitude Hear my applause In plentitude? For I would Forevermore be A friend of you Through Sisterly Connected reflections Causing introspection Here’s the porch Our rockers await Sister’s face At picket gate Stories to share In caring tell A pick-me-up For when we fell Now a shawl I give to thee In spread of warming Sisterly A sister, mirrored, None held, dearer. Ahhh this is so lovely Karilea! Sisters of the heart...right up there but not quite the same as a blood sister. But heart sisters are sooo special. I can picture my sister Nightshade and I, in Spirit Cove, sitting on a porch swing with shawls wrapped around us, chatting away, with a wee nip sitting on the table beside us  ...lol...oh dear I am starting to ramble. I saved today for special, to hug a sister of my heart. Sunday is the day we share, Although we're far apart. Today 5,000 hugs I send, to let you know I care. You're always inside my heart and I take you everywhere. What a lovely poem and I will treasure this one Karilea. Live today like it was your last day on earth! |
