Kentucky Blue What on earth has become of you, a question that hangs, unanswered like these vanishing clouds of breath rising up into icy dew, where once only you filled my view with emerald intensity, heat waves on thick lawns of summer, rising to poles where north is true. I find myself unable to forget these genteel southern climes so I rock on this dusty porch, awash in you, Kentucky blue. © 2002 Corinne Bailey [This message has been edited by Corinne (02-14-2002 09:22 PM).] |

Bring me back, unto the blue hills of Kentucky, Corinne. Doesn't it seem if we can bring back what meant so dear to us, that everything natural would have color once again? Well done, Corinne. PB4S |

Few people have that perfect delicate touch to place on a poem to make it so pleasurable to experience....I'm sure glad you do, Corinne |

this has a unique rhyme that makes it a joy to read. . . and a wonder to see. . . great job Cor. . . ------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Corinne...great writing, soft...nice contrast between the greens and the blues.. I was wondering about the first line though...I think the 'what on earth' is maybe a little unpoetic..something that people say every day...what do you think about simply omitting the 'earth' and having a simple, 'what has become of you'? I love the third stanza...it has an almost uneartly quality... K |
