I fell a heartsick nestling from the bough, allure of Love's air coaxed youth's unformed wings, to ride the lyric bow of Cupid's slings the faith of innocence would show me how, for sure no ill intent would God allow such purity, Loves harbinger to spring a fledging from the safe branch and then fling this pristine soul to sate dark unkept vows, but down I went and when I rose again I'd talons, wide flung shadows of renown a brawny hawk who'd prey on soft slow dove, now life has left the forest for the glen a sad but wiser owl who has flown down from circling round that ideal perch called Love. to ride the lyric bow of Cupid's slings the faith of innocence would show me how, for sure no ill intent would God allow such purity, Loves harbinger to spring a fledging from the safe branch and then fling this pristine soul to sate dark unkept vows, ====================================== You make it all look so easy....from the meter to the imagery ...the phrasing and vocab...the inner conflict....the closing couplet summation.....smooth as glass... and its not easy to do it this well. But then you do poetry this well ![]() "Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. |

...and your book comes out when? The line starts where? Do I need to supply my own pen for an autographed copy? |

Outstanding! You do make it look easy. And as I don't even know what an Italian sonnet is supposed to be, I am betting it is not so easy. This is truly excellent writing. Sandra |
