high heel skin don't have the soul
for going behind the cypress
to dance in the naked creek

but your woman say
she don't mind
a little pain

since it is the good hurts
that will still be there tomorrow
and it will make

the kinfolk talk
bought you wearin the smilee face
from the inside out

you tell them you tore your dress
said it was the wire
on the railroad fence

but we know it was the hurry up's
when we danced the mauvaise danse d'amour
and made the mud squash sounds

under bayou owl with his big moon eye
