Unsure of opening up
and how much to let on,
wagering the cost
of something I've never had.

A tale I dare not tell
fearing I may someday spiral
and fall out of line
misplaced in the stars
leaving an unfavorable impression
waning in the moonlight.

My thoughts linger,
aspiring to hold on to my dreams
cast in the shadows of doubt
invisible to me.
Haunted by the fear of failure
I flounder in a timeless void.

Climbing the walls
in my attempt to escape
left wide open
searching the sky
losing sight of direction
pondering where I went wrong.

Blinded by the truth
complicating my hearts desire
and the simplicity there of.
I wonder who will be there in the end
accepting me for who I am.

One who might agree
to my terms of endearment
without passing judgment
and simply be there~

truth does complicate a heart's desire, especially if you know what you sense: that that love will lead nowhere..liked how you got to that point.well expressed

Larry~ Well heck, I'm not getting any younger!!  You're a class act in case I haven't told you so lately.  Thanks~

ecrivan~ You've got that right, no where if a far cry from paradise.  As much as truth complictes the matter, it's better than going stand by or ending up where you don't belong.  I'm surprised to see you, and I thank you for taking the time to read.

why in the world would anyone mind having someone credit a piece they wrote as inspiration? Like this one... and the truth is none of us are getting any younger are we?

I hope you find that person...that accepts you for who you are and shows that acceptance and appreciateion...

Nice work Blues....

I relate to this so well. Sometimes, however, maybe we must accept us for who we are first...before anyone else can. *sigh*

Nice one

Maureen~ We should write a duet about going stand by ...or we could write about going first class, we could really take off on that one.
It would be fun to write with you.
Thanks Maur~

Cpat~ Thanks for the inspiration, at times your poetry jumps out at me and crawls beneath my skin.     There is truth in words after all and for that I thank you.

Mr. Tabin~  I know, he's just running a little late is all.     Thanks for the read.

Amy~ I thank you for always letting me know you were here and leaving such nice comments.
*hugs*

Floria~ That was awful nice of you to say.
But to be fair, my smile isn't always so sweet.  Thank you thank you.

Lyra~ Seeing you here is a bright spot,
thank you for your kind and caring words and
for touching my life.
~warm hugs to you dear~

Noah~ Thanks for your soft words, and the light you share.

Sandra~ Thanks for going with my flow, wish this were more upbeat.  I don't dwell long, but when I do I dwell deep.
*hugs* Sandra~

Jenn~ You are right, however it isn't a question of accepting myself at all, I rather like the person I am, it's just that some don't!!
Thanks for stopping by I appreciate it.
