In Memories Only

In the silence of the reign
forever whispers, yesterdays moments
when you saved me with touch,
danced me with joy, kissed me with warmth,
unfelt for too long a time.
Those days removed from me again,
leave me, love of mind, to fade into the hands
of darkness, as the sun sets and the chill rises,
forcing me to bathe in memories only.

We chanced upon each other,
with no regrets, skin deep in feel,
but I, in love with your depth.
I rise to you each morn,
enlightened by thoughts,
illusion or not, guiding me
with familiarity, disciplined
though never punished, just tamed
to elevate, refine my life.
We are so different yet so alike,
living in a world of non-acceptance.

I have been drafted, diagramed, outlined,
scrawled in imperfection. I am the interim,
the intermission of life's act.
I am suspended, hanging by a thread, waiting,
wondering how long I must dangle, before...

To and fro, I swing, living in uncertainty,
in constant ramble, and with each twitch of eye,
each strained cough, I reach inside me
to expel the poison that has marked me invisible
to a cure. I am defaced, spoiled,
slowly decomposing and I fear...
nature will win out.

This is an amazing piece Maureen ... full of depth and emotion. You've captured a mood that left me feeling that I too, am in this place of limbo ... excellent!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Maureen, this is very good. I understand it all too well. Sounds a bit depressed towards the end though. I hope you are hanging in there. I am, barely.

Maureen, you write beautifully! I love to read your thoughts as you wander through pathways of life with such an active imagination.

Aw shucks, I just thought you were purfect. Guess I was just looking through a little pure clear loving window pane. Perhaps if I bought one of those fancy mirrors at the big City store I could see you as you describe yourself. But is it okay if I just remember you as purfect?

Maureen, I am almost stunned by the beauty and depth of this piece.  You write so very well when your mood is lifted and you are an absolute pleasure to read!

(big hugggssssss) Oh Maureen, this feels so sad and depressing, sweet friend, my heart goes out to you and I pray soon you will find true happiness that is eminent over the joys you have felt from yesterday! (sigh) You are never decomposing, sweet friend, you are growing everyday and we are all here for you when you need someone to talk to, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Maureen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

A beautiful, true life poem, Maureen...it sounds like you are a very sensitive person.
Sometimes living in limbo is worse than finding out a truth that you don't want to know.

I got your email, but will probably not be able to get back to you until Thurs....
tomorrow is my long day at treatment!
