How dark the sky appears when the sun has set itself, and when you're so far away. It can be barren if the clouds disappear from human sight into the inky ether, the darkness. Those suspended bits of water offer friendship in the day, chances to paint pictures in our imaginations. But at night, it's another story. Some dissipate into the wind wanting to rest with the sun or to forget themselves among the currents. Some choose to slink as fog into sunken valleys, maybe so they can be obtrusive so nobody can see anything but them in the morning. Personally, I like the ones that stay right there above me; those wispy nimbi that float, hoping the moon will be. It reminds me of myself, actually, when I think about these things looking for camaraderie at two a.m. every particle of those clouds is alit with the light of the moon and I can see I'm not alone. Maybe they can see I'm their friend, because, likewise, every bit of me is alit with someone that lies hundreds of miles from me. --------------- Any suggestions for cleaning this 'un up would be most appreciated. |
