The sound..
A clock ticking on a distant wall.
The whirr and hummmmm of a fridge.
Occasional creak of walls shrugging.
A door opening and closing upstairs.

Sitting in peace, almost total quiet.
Reflecting on life, ups and downs and tornadoes.
Looking in a mirror of reflection...
A tired face with gentle eyes staring back.

A deep indrawn sigh, the squint of eyes..
Looking deep into the soul of a man..
Remembering far back into times of childhood.
Thinking of the losses, the pains, the sad and good.

In that mirror, what is there?
A good man?  Surely yes...Great...maybe in ways..
A tear slides from one eye, gravity tugging.
A second follows, a weather worn finger catching it.

Why would a man stand before a mirror of reflection?
Why would this man cry....Surely he is a man?
Silence still reigning in the house.
The tick of the clock following his heart.

Wiping his eyes, wiping his nose...
He lies on the bed....looking into the distance..
Eyes not seeing the images of his mind.
Thinking back, thinking forward...not at all.

Faith, she says?   Have faith on this day.
For you, kind man deserve the gold.
You, a gentle man, a compassionate man..
Look at the fields aside the road...
Which path shall he take...

Standing tall, proud, with faith
A kind, compassionate and gentle man walks.
Head high, still with a tear...
A tear of pride, a tear of joy.

Many times I've had not sad tears, but happy tears. Well done, Barry.

Barry...this one is a gem...

Standing tall, proud, with faith
A kind, compassionate and gentle man walks.
Head high, still with a tear...
A tear of pride, a tear of joy.

There are many many different kinds of tears.
