Wallets and Purses

I am unfit to keep a purse
and yet too sturdy to need a nurse
need a place to keep my coins
need to race to hide my loins.

Need more room to collect my dues
place my bets, win or lose
sift the bills and expose those pains
are these merry times when out come stains?

Successful men with wallets that grow fat
count instant gains with ladies on their laps
Stained, thinner men are less inclined
their abilities to amass is more refined.

Hip ladies carry designer purses to evening dances
would it be that they could improve their chances,
with those successful men and enter cash flow discourse
should it be that their wallets and purses join that intercourse?

Old man with his wallet tattered and torn
goes to the supermarket all forlorn
meets an old sweetheart, her purse stuffed with bills and papers
Was discourse much simpler when money led the caper?

Martin - Very creative write, but I must say that my wallet is surely way too empty to pick up a lady.lol

(sigh) Wow, I love the timeframe effect in this poem, sweet friend, I suppose many stories can be told just by knowing the contents of ones wallet or purse! (smiles) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is excellent! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martin, thank you for sharing!
