Mannequin please tell me true
Who wields those tangled strings of you?
You answer to the master's call
He holds your soul so you wont fall

No mind, no voice to call your own
He masks your face in raptures groan
He covers you with his strong will
And binds you till he's had his fill

He seals your mouth with words untrue
And captures every part of you
Until a puppet on the shelf
Is all you are - no more yourself

And then he takes you, builds his lies
And smothers you in his disguise
A shadowed form no more of you
His word and way has bound you, true

No more yourself in transit trace
The him is mirrored in your face
The strings he pulls you do not see
And so you dance on tragically

There is no joy in aught you do
Nothing new is there for you
Mannequin dance on this day
You gave your soul; now you pay.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Keth darling sister of my heart and keeper of the moons light, this is awesome, I mean it, this is an incredible piece of writing, utterly utterly amazing writing it’s so full of truth and light

The whole poem is spectacular in its execution however these lines positively scream class to me

No more yourself in transit trace
The him is mirrored in your face
The strings he pulls you do not see
And so you dance on tragically

There is no joy in aught you do
Nothing new is there for you
Mannequin dance on this day
You gave your soul; now you pay

Utterly utterly fabulous writing darling heart, I love it .  You know I love this poem, purely perfect poetry

Love and warm stuff
As always

Quite lovely!  But enlighten me as to how the title plays the poem...Columbine is a flower here in the states, and my mind can't make that vision work with your poem, so shed some light dear, and tell me what is it I am missing?

The title confused me, too.  But the poem, I understood every word of.  And related, in a bizarre sorta way.

Sunshine and Duncan,
Columbine is the name of a dancing doll who does not know she is a doll and falls in love with the Harlequin...the end result is tragedy.
At least that's what I remember it to be however it's been years so I may be off in my rendering of it.
I hope this explains it.

yes Kethry, that's it. . .

it will be interesting to see how many people come into this poem with something else on their minds. . . well done. . .

(big hugggsssssss) Wow, oohhhhhhh...I'm so glad you clarified the title too, sweet friend, I read this earlier and I didn't understand the titles relation until now! (kiss on cheek) This is a tragic but powerful poem, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kethry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Sven  and Angel,
My apologies for the confusion. it wasn't until after I posted that I realised that Columbine was also a flower and the name of the high school where the children were massacred.
I hope nobody thought it was about the massacre.

This is very nicely done. I didn't know what Columbine, so this enlightned me. Good work.

Thanks for the explanation, Kethry...at least I now know where you are coming from...and yes, dear, according to that story, you've put it beautifully into poetic form....

This is so good, Keth. And tragic. But I seem to remember that Columbine and Harlequin were tragic too.
