Crocuses in Snow

poem by Virginia Salter

with vibrant violet heads
they announce the spring
clustered in glorious array
standing as tall as their stature allows
in spite of winter’s cling
that surrounds their soles
with crystalline white
appearing as if coated in diamonds
caressed with dew drops
frozen to transparent,
prismatic kisses

in the icy
still air
they almost dance
a vibrancy
that warms viewer
with a promise
that winter
truly will end
and renewal
truly will come

(smiles) This is sooooooo beautiful, sweet friend, yes, may all the flowers bloom and may Mother Nature grant us the promnise of many springs to come forever to us all! (kiss on cheek) Such wonderful imagery always fill your words, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!
