A girl passed me in the hall
I never saw her face
her smile
or the way that she walked
but in the air
was suspended a spark
triggering a memory
of the perfume you wear
and for a moment
I felt your soft embrace
your curling hair
brushing against my cheek
and I saw you while sleeping
a childlike smile on your face
contentment
the same I feel
when I think of you
even when far away
my love for you lingers

A real man

kisses his children goodnight

Beautiful, yet painful, memories.
