Fated Ifs A duet by Larry and Marsha Your attitude on life attracts me, And your smile just melts my heart. But the distance is impossible, For we're so very far apart. If fate had been kinder to you and me Would we have been together? Possibly? Would your eyes have stared into mine? Would we have played tricks with time? Making it speed up then slow again Heating us in loves liquid flame If fate had decreed we’d meet like this Would we have shared a lovers kiss? The what ifs of fate that never were, Could make one's mind become a blur. But it causes me to stop and re-evaluate, What it is that we call fate If fate had been kinder to you and me Would distance count? Not likely If I’d had the chance to touch your lips Drinking kisses from you in tiny sips Would I have given you what you need? Satisfied the longing, sown love’s seed? If fate had said get it together you two Would you have given in, as I would do? Our minds could completely run away, And from our course lead us astray. Had it been different than this reality, I would pursue the things that might be. If fate had been kinder to you and me Would you want me, desire me? Would your breath softly touch my face? Would you hunger for my warm embrace? Would you dance with me in the fire? Wish to make the flames hotter higher? If fate had decided we were going to be Would you chance it all to be with me?
