Lips of sunset kisses trade winds' goodbye
ships of fools upon tides of lullabies
unanchored moments adrift in the night
whispers navigate in seas of moonlight
clinging to seaweed upon a wistful branch
a tear still hoping for another chance
soft echoes tangled in nets of debris
washed away driftwood haunting the sea
a coral heart filled with  treasures of love
lost without a trace like scent of foxglove
tucked away somewhere in a surreal dream
castaway thoughts and shipwrecked moonbeams
thoughts tease at the mention of your name
but love was the only sea creature to blame

Of course, you mention of the sea immediately drew me in.   Just lovely, Victoria!  *hugs*

Hey, we are on the same island, I think. LOL
Yours sounds a bit prettier though.
Sigh..I wish I could really go, and not alone, either!

Poor girl...sounds like you are fit to be tide! Sometimes you just have to wave goodbye and write it off as a tidal loss. Your treasure chest will be in the right hands one day...I'm sorry!!!!! You got me feeling nautical with the clever way you combined all of those phrases...at least I refrained from using naval! Canoe forgive me for being so dinghy??

It really is a beautiful piece...

That line conjured up images in shallow water.  I don't mean to say love is shallow, I liked the idea of swimming alongside the coral while the sun shines through, like being inside out!  I'm not making much sense but I like the picture I am seeing in my mind.

Nice Victoria!!

Victoria, a wonderful play on words; not as silly as Balladeer's of course, but delightful all the same!
