What would I give for your love to be true Should I leave you alone and let things be What more could I lend but my soul to you My love is an aching and lonely stew Should I unlock my heart and set you free What would I give for your love to be true My thoughts and my feelings you shrewdly slew Should I move mountains for your soul to ski What more could I lend but my soul to you My soul is torn, yet the water stays blue Should I offer the ocean or a sea What would I give for your love to be true Despite your black shadow my love still grew Should I send you the forrest or a tree What more could I lend but my soul to you Our love could be Paradise to renew Should I give you the world or all of me What would I give for your love to be true What more could I lend but my soul to you |

Thanks so much, RosePetal! There's a trick to villanelle, ya know. First, write your repeating couplet...make sure it can go with other lines as well as stand on it's own. Second, use easy rhyming words because you have to come up with quite a few. ;o) That's what I was taught. Love, Bonnie |
