Shadows

In the crass light of day, the sun at it's height
colors washed out, bleached clean
shadows hide amongst themselves
only later, to be seen

as hours wane, the sun settles down
the sky a deeper blue
a world dressed up in nature's gown
affords a softer view

the clouds climb low, as day matures
hidden shadows lengthen
sunlight dims, the clock ticks dark
the world glows with dimension

the hour before twilight, in gathering dusk
shadows and light vie for attention
in the placid plush of blurry lines
a world without pretension

in the comfort of this time of day
beauty fills our seeing
in fading light, shadows rendezvous
with darkness and light agreeing

Your poetry makes me realize...how little time I spend out of doors.  And when I do, well, the city rarely offers a softer view.
Made me wanna go camping!!

it is a fact, that shadows must vanish
when exposed to the harshness of light.

Landscape poetry with metaphorical meaning
sprinkled, there-about.
Where does a shadow hide?
Absolutely enthralling MunkSter, with great visuals to boot!

Lyra,
This wouldn't be inspired by a lack of sleep, would it? Hang in there and thanks for the inspiration. You know how much I love nature. A wonderful talent.

Lyra, the soft beauty of this whispers across the page beautifully...and I remain a friend who might say, never stop writing like this, no matter what comes...for this suits you very well, little Chipmunk...

I want to thank everyone for replying to my poem.  I'm sorry I can't answer everyone personally, but I just looked at the time and I have to be up early tomorrow.  Today was the big day...radiation this morning and chemo this afternoon....so I am surprised that I am even making any sense at all...but I must go to bed now.
So to all of you...my very dear friends...
Noah, Michael, Nancy, Duncan, Martie, Kacy, Jeff, Larry, Lady In White, Dulcinea, Floria, Lauren, Maureen and Lori..........
thank you all from the bottom of my tired little chipmunk heart.
Duncan...get out your gear and go camping!
and Jeff...shadows can only hide inside of other shadows...but if the sun is really high....they just stay in their little shadowhouses until the sun sinks low enough for them to show themselves.
hugggggssssssss to all of you and also thanks for your blessings, prayers, thoughts and hugs.
