Nothing is more beautiful that a woman in the smile of her lover To hold him closer, feed him well, and lift him high above her For this the nature of the pairing, in a right that spans forever Of carefulness to warm and guide him, to brace him any weather And nothing is more beautiful than the man in love there within her eyes To lead her and protect her, and to share of all the wonder and surprise For this most natural as the laying on of hands, as the laying down of hearts Of strength and truthfulness, the shelter of his very breath as gentleness imparts Nothing is more beautiful than the bonding of two lights aflame To find in compliment the meaning of true joy, cherished as the same For this the single apex of a yearning that will drive the soul to cup Of warmth and generosity, the laughter shared reserved to lift them up Copyright Kkh 3/19/02 |
