His Own Special Light

Always there for me, loving me warm
protecting me from life's threatening storms
his warmth and kindness know no bounds
his devotion and love for me still astounds

when the outside world becomes too much
he calms me with his comforting touch
when I'm scared, he clasps my hand
holding me gently, he understands

in a world so filled with fright
David turns my fears into fight
when I reach my breaking point
his caring never disappoints

with loving affection, he fills my soul
in his strong arms, I'm safe and whole
the strength of his feelings embraces my life
wiping away the pain and strife

with wiry, thick, gray, wavy hair
he's my loving teddy bear
with his beautiful beard, white as snow
he's my love, my Romeo

through soft green eyes, his love shines bright
a special man, with his own special light

Lyra, such a wonderful piece penned for David.
I know he will always be there for you...
To give you all the hugs we here at Passions wish we were able to.
He sounds like a loving and caring soul...
Perhaps he could give you a hug for every one of us here!
God Bless David...and our Lyra!

A very special gift, Love...

sometimes it stays as a wrapped present, awaiting the opening...other times, the joy within cannot contain the ribboned tie, and breaks forth...

such as this!

This is such a moving and emotional tribute to a man who sounds so kind and loving. You are fortunate to have such a soul mate. May you both continue to be as happy years from now as you are today. Hugs, Marti

Lauren...thanks for replying to my poem and also for your very caring emails and cards.

Victoria...thanks,  I do have a very special and wonderful husband.  I wonder sometimes how he puts up with me and all of what we are going through right now...he is truly an angel and I think he was sent to me from above, because I was going to need him.

Dulcinea...thanks for your reply...My husband is a very romantic and caring man.  In that respect, I am the luckiest woman in the world...he's also real cute

Noah...you are such a good kid...thanks for your very kind reply

Nancy...David says that he sends hugs to all of my friends here at Passions....maybe he is trying to make me jealous

Accordianmaid...thanks for your reply.  I love your very interesting name and would love to know it's origin.

Newell...thank you, and you are so very right.
David and I are extremely lucky to have found each other...and incredibly, we almost didn't find each other.  But that is a whole other poem.

Karilea...thank you for your very poetic reply.  Love is indeed a special gift...and when David and I first found it, we couldn't wait to tear the ribbons and the paper off so we could get to what was deep inside of the package.

Marsha...I love your utterly fabulous replys, they make me feel so very wonderful and valued, my dear friend.

Sy...thanks so much for your reply...yes, I did find a very wonderful man...an UNBELIEVABLY wonderful man
