what's the answer to the question that I'm thinking of? is it the same answer to the last question that I had? or is it another answer that I'm going to have to find for myself? and, if I do have to find it for myself where exactly will I look for it? is it hidden among the books in the library of my mind? is it in the sky that I look at morning and night? will I find it in the eyes of a lover not yet seen? in the voice of a child not yet heard? or, will I find it in these words? these words that you're reading as my pen flies along the lines of this notebook that is my portable mind full of my most interesting thoughts and processes this notebook that functions as my therapist as my sounding board and holder of my fears full of words written in a slant-to-the-right print that looks neat and ordered to me, but to others possibly resembles the scribblings of someone who's probably guilty of thinking way too deep for someone his age and always in a blue, fine point, rolling ball ink that leaves very little room for missed letters and errors and that lets me get as many words as possible on a line why do I always turn to my words to find the answers? why ask myself if I have the answers to my own questions? do I really think that I have all the answers? why not ask someone who knows more about this than I? someone who's older, more experienced, and probably a better writer someone who can take the English language and make it do a lot more on the page that I could ever hope to someone who's been there, who knows what's going on with me isn't that what all of us really want? someone who will point us in the way we need to go so we don't screw it up like we've done so far? I mean, consider, would any of us have made the same dumb mistakes we have so far if we would have had someone there to warn us not to do it? probably not Why? because we know best, isn't that right O Wise One? don't we know what's best for our own lives? better than anyone else in the whole wide universe? definitely not "Father Knows Best" for obvious reasons because how can Father Know Best where there's not a Father to Know Best for you? and just what exactly is Best? is my Best the same as your Best, as someone else's Best? no, of course not, you silly goose because if we all had the same Best, then we'd all have the same Worst wouldn't we? and if we all had the same Worst, believe me, it wouldn't be very pretty definitely not the kind of Wurst that you'd serve on a Kaiser with mustard and relish (but, I'm kind of losing my train of thought, aren't I? wonder if it's got something to do with the hunger that comes from the soul and not the stomach?) oh, wait a minute, I'm kind of losing it here, aren't I? this was supposed to be about finding answers here finding the answers to the questions that I have I wish that you could watch me write this right now, you'd see the pen fly in furious strokes down the page almost like a blue streak (not the roller coaster) the thoughts flying out of my head almost like the dam's been opened and the resevoir's being emptied of the water to a land that really needs it (besides it hasn't really been a wet winter) so, again, just where in the name of whatever Supreme Being that you would rather I swear allegience to am I going to find these blasted answers, O Bright One? I can see you standing (sitting) there reading these words and wondering if I'll ever find the answers to the questions that I'm looking for WAIT A MINUTE!!!! (read that back to me, what's it say?) the answers to the questions that I'm looking for I may have stumbled onto something here isn't that the way that it always turns out? you always just "stumble" onto whatever it is that you need why "stumble"? makes it seem like you're walking blind do we really want to do that? walk around like metaphorical morons looking for the Holy Grail that is the answer to the question of Life, the Universe, and Everything (isn't that 42?) or, do we just want answers to our own questions of life? (life, don't talk to me about life) I'm sure that Douglas Adams won't mind. . . what's the question again?? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Hmmmmm. What is the question? Although does it really matter? As is it not human nature to know the answer and look for reasons our answer is correct? The question, then is what is the answer that we know is correct. Is it not? ((Sven)) -newell Sharing God's Love through perfectlovepoetry.com |

Sometimes there are no answers. The smarter the person the more they question. That's life -- does this answer anything?????? Great poem. |

BRAVO!!! Oh Sven, I too agree with you and Newell and Walker, I believe sometimes there are no answers at all and it all lies within our intuition, just as if we all forcve ourselves to think, it never really helps, but we'll rather find them on accident just stumbling across them! (big hugggssssss) This is marvelous, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sven, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! The answer is...mass confusion. Boy do I know what you are saying. I could dwell on this for a long time. Sandra |

AD darling boy, this is utterly excellent writing. I just love how you do this. Such skill to make it flow just right. So many questions, but the only real answer is this is unknowable, once we realise that we stop asking the wrong questions and seek the right ones. Which are where is peace, where is love and what can I do to achieve it. And that you have to look within to find. Of course I may be wrong and it’s not Love and warm stuff As always Mushy To give light to them that sit in darkness..... to guide our feet into the way of peace Luke 2:79 [This message has been edited by Marsha (03-19-2002 03:44 PM).] |

Sven I think once you find the answer to one question a new question arises that is ever more challenging...isn't that what life is about...questions...answers...challenges... kisses?...James |

Okay, I can't help but to smile at this..umm..although, to be honest I got that "long poetry headache" while reading. Its okay though, because you could write on a scroll the measure of the world all the way around and I'd savor every last letter, Sven Pen. This is different for you, but still so totally you. (well..the you in your writing, at least ) Hmmm...favorite part below.. I don't know how to do the quote feature, and you'll forgive me if my copy/paste screwed this up? "these words that you're reading as my pen flies along the lines of this notebook that is my portable mind full of my most interesting thoughts and processes this notebook that functions as my therapist as my sounding board and holder of my fears full of words written in a slant-to-the-right print that looks neat and ordered to me, but to others possibly resembles the scribblings of someone who's probably guilty of thinking way too deep for someone his age and always in a blue, fine point, rolling ball ink that leaves very little room for missed letters and errors and that lets me get as many words as possible on a line" How grave is my condition, for I cannot find the words to say, I need you so. |

Silver Streak, the question is, "What is the answer?" But yet, the answer is, "What is the question?" Not the one that we know is correct, but, the one that is correct. . . thank you. . . walker, "the smarter the person the more they question". . . hmmm. . . no, I don't think so. . . we all question, no matter what our intelligence level. . . and sometimes, from those who we think lack the intelligence, come the deepest questions of all. . . thank you. . . Noah, there are answers my friend. . . we just have to know where to look for them. . . and when we find them. . . thank you as always. . . Sandra, some days, I think you're right. . . but yet, I wonder if out of that confusion, we can find what we're looking for. . . thanks. . . Marsha, there aren't right and wrong questions. . . we all have different ones. . . what's right for you, isn't right for someone else. . .but, we all do have to start within. . .that's where it all begins. . . thank you. . . Lauren, "would we be happy if we knew all the answers??" probably not. . . . . . because then, we would just want more questions. . . thank you so much. . . James, I believe that you have found part of the answer my friend. . . although, I don't know about the kisses. . . LOL thanks. . . Bridget, yes, but. . . do we think to know what we write??? Thank you. . . SpitFire, don't fall over just yet. . . I'm sure that there will be more. . . thank you. . . and peace. . . Temptress, "long poetry headache". . . is that Excedrin headache #45?? LOL Thank you for putting in the time to read this one. . . it just came out in one long flow. . . and I went with it. . . and, "the me in my writing"?? Is that person so different from the me that isn't in my writing?? Or, are they the same?? passing shadows, I'll give you credit for reading this one so early/late. . . it's the kind of thing that will keep you up for hours. . . or for days. . . or for a lifetime. . . or more. . . thank you. . . -------------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |
