Dark, ominous clouds
plow across the rocky bluffs
like angry farmers
whose rocky soil refuses
to yield its bounty.

Cheryl darling this is simply outstanding writing, you have done so well here I don’t know how you do it. Again flawless and perfectly presented. What can I say but this is exceptional. YOU always write brilliantly and today is no exception.

Wonderful flow and rhythm, this is an excellent Tanka, Dave was looking for someone to show him Tanka’s you could give him lessons

Wow. Powerful imagery. I think I've explained my position on this before-quit doing things this well! It makes it hard for me to make excuses for the fluffy stuff I write!

Interloper & Zinsser, Thanks so much. Glad you liked!

Marsha, Your words are way too generous but I'll lap them up with delight.

Noah, You are always so kind. I'm so glad you even take time to read my work.

Nan, Thanks as always. You're way to kind.

Cheryl...Very powerful tanka.  If only we did not harden our hearts, how much more we could receive of God's grace and bounty.
