Wind Songs just off the Island near ‘ol clairvoyant ocean sits a lonely young son with wind songs in motion playing tunes all alone in silence he plays just for his mom with breezes on pines and ferns dancing on wills plays rhythm in blooze on old Pleasant Hill a North wind rips an autumn sting fingers plunking though breif sojourning southward flies the breath of spring song leaves turn to even’s pleading & with o’er hanging head and branches leaning silken elbows on knees reflecting feel his spirit in genuflecting fall’s ever rushing in her greeting forward & ever onward hills tinted wait her meeting red horizon lies in ponder sun is setting over yonder Dale Wayne Gwaltney Writen after a visit to the Island and mom’s grave in 1997/09/1101:11 PM |
