Broad day surrounds me
in variants of quiet change
My muse suggests we move
to far reaches of depth

I resist for a moment
then sleep with her
drawn inward
while the mind rampantly
steals a breathing death
and I am one

the oil in lamp of gone
the key in rusted lock
the white returned
in laceless energy

all is solemn prose
until a hand reaches me
and pulls me from the crash
I dash
to arms length of whisper
and thank the Gods for sanctity
but first
I must love myself

so I pit my gifts together
in offering of time spell
and realize there isn’t enough

Woe is the meter of empty-handed
and I cry
to spare the weight of my tears
palms upward
in honesty
bracing for the face
of disappointment

when a smile raises my brow
and I swim upwards gasping
with newfound words
flowing as mind wine

you are the holder of the cup

Your writing reminds me somewhat of SpitFires...different, but I think you're both looking at the same light, from the same hill - and that's a high compliment I give, my friend.  I do so enjoy reading you.

(smiles) Awwwwwwwww, this had me crying a little towards the end until finally she got all she wanted, someone to care and love dearly! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, may you forever share a lifetime of happiness with the one your heart desires and loves! We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is fabulous! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Regina, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

and did you want
wine
or java, to wake
the muse,
or to lull her
into a sense of
well,
the deeper for
our thoughts
to dwell?

Darn girl...but I do like your style!

THIS MUSE is worth its weight in poetic gold....
tho the process sometimes comes with emotional expense ...the end result is worth the cost....
just look at this reflection of muse of exception.
(and another for my collection)

as always reg, your writing is deep.  Loved this one gal.

A wonderful tribute to your muse Regina ... beautifully composed. Leaves me with a wonderful feeling of hope and inspiration that the words do, indeed ... come to us in such a fashion. Really enjoyed this!

Best wishes,
/Kit

wonderfully done Regina. . . a look inside. . .

rwood......you give us a beautiful image, in general. The last line is especially lovely. But I wonder, oh, one's muse is so etheral that it seems a pity to adopt a usage and tone that tends to abbreviate the description. For example, "..the oil in lamp of gone..." begs for more, not less. It is the wispy clouds, that seem to go on for ever. I think that with this subject matter you have to either be painfully brief, like a water drop that glistens, or emulate to the fullest, like a complete, drenching rainshower...or the virga that descends from it. I think that you have tried to do both. Again, quite lovely, even more so for its potential. I mean no offense. I hope none taken. Bob

I have missed your words gracing the pages..
You have made up for that a hundred fold
with this poem...beautifully done Regina,
and I enjoyed it...a lot..
