A Fine Holiday

reading poetry,
reading rhyme,
just a wee bit
before bed time,
saw a poet’s
words of
response,
held aloft,
a bit of taunt,
he said that
one poem
would make
for a fine
holiday
to see,
well, to this
my fine lad,
I would say….
let be

a poet’s mind
is a holiday,
a forever
and a say,
it mixes quick
the words that
flow,
and with a stick,
a wand,
just so,
it makes a day
seem much
more bright,
or creates
concern,
or levies
fight

to fight
for right,
a cause,
a score,
a poet’s
mind
is
forevermore

so young poet,
heed this plea,
let all poets
on holiday
be,
let all poets
in their
rhyme,
find cause to
cheer,
or give just
time,

but let the
poet
be
transfixed,
by magic
that comes
swift and quick,

by words
that transform,
by feelings
that be,
by moments
in time,

that’s
poetry

And you have very accurately stated just how
it is when you are just that....a poet!!

And YOU are just that...

Uh, ah, er....AMEN!

Never quite thought of it that way...but it makes so - much - sense...when you explain it!  Wonderful.

yes, this is. . .

what a unique presentation. . . making the lines fall as they did. . . not in strict "rhyme lines", but, following the thought as it went down the page. . . I like it!!

I'm certainly on a holiday.  Are you?  Yes, I believe you are.   Nice work, Lady.  Loved this piece!

Morning star, still kiss the dawn
