The Clambake Dunes, like college students on spring break, appear to arrive in the south wearing sparse attire and exhibiting a proclivity towards the carnival. Fickle by nature, they generally settle out of the wind, smoothing themselves to a calm that notions behind a screen of driftwood. Nonetheless, come dusk they change, withdrawing into themselves as the sun plods west, a workman heading for the swing shift. Later, on the return trek, the moon stops then smiles to catch, up and down the long, dark beach, wherever it looks, light necking. RMW |
