Masks of Pride By Larry Chadwick Born of our guilt, Refined by despair. Sin oft’ committed, When you’re not there. Our habits refined, By practice again. Honing our craft, Fondling the sin. Pride is the issue, Denial our game. Image demands, Refusing our shame. Shells of deceit, Pretending so well. Judgment for certain, Doomed for hell. February 27, 2002 |

WOW!!!!Pride....when does it become sin...oh gosh you have me pondering...*grin* and that is a very good thing....Pride in one's children......mmmmmm yes pride is a sin but which kind of pride....You are right there are so many masks of Pride...and some of them are destructive...This one is great Larry....I love it...I love the way you have written it...**big hugs** You know of course you have me wondering and now I will have something interesting to ponder today.. Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |

I liked this one very much, Larry... Pride is the issue, Denial our game. Image demands, Refusing our shame If pride is a sin...then I am very guilty! copyright2002 Lyra Nesius "poetry is life distilled" Gwendolyn Brooks [This message has been edited by Madame Chipmunk (02-28-2002 01:40 PM).] |

Susan, Thanks. It felt intense from this side too. Mushy, But you're my favorite sucker! Thanks...a bunch. Karen, Glad this provoked some thoughts. I was thinking more of habits we hide for the sake of our pride. Glad you liked this. Thanks. Ariana, Hopefully we don't know them all. LOL Thanks. Lyra, Well...actually most pride is. Thanks and me too. |
