Listening to every heart

Cast Me Away Not

It is too very easy to be despondent
in a world of cast-aways
when all good things with life therein
simply through time do not stay.

I would hearken back to the 30’s
even though it was dust-bowl dirty
that every little piece of heart owned
was tightly held against the wind a’blowing.

Ah those times, when all precious things in form
brought back sweet memories of strife torn
days, and hours sweetly played ~
ah, how it was when cast-aways stayed.

When on this globe, nothing over months of age
would dare to center this world’s stage,
without being jeered at as “commonplace”
and such this very act gives me provoked rage.

So when it’s apparent that I collect treasures
do not regard it as a measure of wealth,
when wealth is inherently one’s health,
but that it is an art’s form that my eyes measure.

Then, cast me away not upon a heap of rubble,
but remember I gave you sunshine bubbles,
to ride upon to blue skirted skies
and do not cast me, or others, nigh.

(big hugggssssss) It too saddens me to see the times go by so fast, sweet friend, I only wish we could live this pastoral lifestyle so much again and cherish family and friends and what matters most! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is sooooo beautifully sentimental! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Karilea - All good things must come to an end, just like this poem.  I enjoyed this nostalgic write.  Nicely done.

I love to look back on things I recall ... and love it also when friends carefully hand me an old treasure, while their memories of it unfold

Sunshine,
as long as you write you could never be castaway.

Karilea, there is nothing like a cup of morning coffee and one of your pieces to read!!  And I am serious! Cast you away?...never!  Great start to my day!  Hope yours is a wonderful one!

From a lifetime member in that club I must say this hit deep with me. Thanks! It is good to know there are others out there who have been "cast away" too.
