Since Sharon is proudly showing off Ian, I'll tell you some stories about my cousins.

Staci (she'll be 1 next month) was at my house the other day, and my mom was sitting in the living room holding her. My sister and I were in the kitchen, and all of a sudden my mom calls out to us, "Hey, you two, come in here and see this!" So we walk into the living room, and there's Staci sitting on the end table. She had crawled right up there all by herself!

A few months ago, I went down to my grandparents' house, and my cousins Rachel (she's 1 today! I can't believe it) and Zach were there with their parents, and Zach was showing me a toy boat he had. Rachel wants to play with any toy he has, so when she saw the boat, she crawled right over, grabbed onto Zach's shirt so she could stand up and tried to take the boat.

Aren't they sweet?

God bless America, my home sweet home.

The first year is wonderful - They're so angelic and perfect and all... The second year is simply hysterical - They start doing little people stuff and make you laugh just about every minute of the day...

Aw.. they sound adorable.. You made me think of Hannah, from across the street from us. She's be nearly 2 now, but when she was a year old her mum had just handed her to her dad, and she vomited all down his back. hehe, he handed her straight back. She is so adorable, and loves meeting new people - upon whom she always makes a big impression - especcially when she vomits!

Little people things.. that sounds really cute when you say it like that, Nan.

An excerpt from my conversation with my son yesterday:

Damian (5):  I have to tell you something.

Me:  OK, what do you have to tell me?

Damian (pause):  Um, my birthday is comin up soon.

Me:  Is that right?  When is your birthday?

Damian:  March 28th.

Me:  And you say it is coming up soon?

Damian:  Yes.

Me:  How many days till your birthday?

Damian:  Well .... (pause) ... it's not tomorrow or the next day, but the next day.

Me:  OH, I see.  And what about sister's birthday?  When is that?

Damian (impatiently):  AFTER mine!

Me (ROFL): how old are you going to be?

Damian:  6.

Me: And how big will you be?

Damian (making stretching sounds):  THIS big.

Me:  And how old will Kahlan be on her birthday?

Damian:  She will be 7.

Me:  And how big will SHE be?

Damian:  Sixteen thousand feet.

Me:  Hmmm ... sixteen thousand feet, huh?

Damian.  Yep. (pause)  Did you get me anything for my birthday yet?  It's coming up soon ...

Me:  No, not yet.  I don't have any money.

Damian:  That's ok Mommy, I'll send you some money.

Children are so precious because they really SAY what they are thinking ...

Also found out yesterday that my daughter can "read" in Spanish (not her native language LOL) -- she got on the phone and read me an entire passage nearly perfectly ... but when I asked her: "So what does all that mean?"  She answered:  "I don't know!  I'm just sounding the words out, mommy!"  Hehe.

Lin, I laughed out loud at the sixteen thousand feet comment! Your kids sound precious.

God bless America, my home sweet home.
