Held in darkest corner web She weaves her spell on him Waiting for his surrender To her restless whim Deep within her wanton breast Is a stifled voice from her past Heeding not the reason within She takes him as her repast Devoured by her hunger He sees clearly his own fate She rips apart his fragile world Black widow spider was his mate |

this---is exactly ME, twenty years ago. Remarkable insight you have deVine one. You see, after an "incident of assault" I became very promiscuous. That's not even the word, actually. PREDATORY SEX describes it better. It became a power play for me, and I was like the war veteran, slashing trophies via body parts. (um, not literal folks) I hope you know how really good this is. If not, write me, and we will argue. excellent in this train of thought smiling you amaze me yanno. You make me believe it's personal. EVERYTIME. |

I have always loved the American Indian's idea of Spider Woman (or She of the web.) "She" is the all powerful woman who creates from a central source. One day it is She who will pull all of her creation - back to her source. Her web represents the grids or matrix of our reality. I like to think of myself as one of these, and no one can tell me different Here's a link for you to see where I am coming from here and I adore the graphic. By the way, got the idea yet? I loved this one by the way. http://www.crystalinks.com/spiderwoman.html |

Haha, this is appropriate for Halloween. The poem is written almost as a riddle, but it ends more clearly. The second stanza, with its mysterious rememberance of the past instances in which this spider devoured her loved ones was well done. 2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2 |
