A stranger, I wandered into a town, Such as I'd never seen before. A welcome banner across the main street; Every house with an open door. I thought that perhaps I would need a pass, As I gingerly stepped inside. Would anyone notice uninvited me And my presence, would they abide? I wondered, "Would I really be welcome?" The party was large and quite loud. Then some friendly folks saw me entering, Helped me find my way through the crowd. I am trying now, another such door, With but one stipulation heard. Surely I qualify as a senior, And in every sense of the word. Joyce 5/9/01 [This message has been edited by Joyce Johnson (edited 05-09-2001).] |

Welcome Joyce!! Get your month's free supply of Depends at the door. Hobble over to the Senior Buffet for some delicious lime jello and coffee cake!! Loved your poem by the way - I'm sure that's the ONLY reason we're letting you in...you are FAR too young for this group! |

You are very welcome! Well done on the poem! I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |

You're SOOOOOO welcome! Great poem there, my friend! It's ok being a senior, though. Take me for example... I'm really 67 years old, but I have everyone convinced that I'm 16! What a riot! "Men judge generally more by the eye than by the hand, for everyone can see and few can feel."-Machiavelli |

I was thinking at the start of this poem, after reading the title, if that was what you meant. Then I sort of abandoned the theory until the last line. Good job on the poem, and these depends itch so badly! I think PdV is buying us the store brand ones... ~Allan Build a man a fire, and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. |
