Making Persuasion Caster casts the spell weaving of realities marks seeing what they will it's the weave; captivates, fascinates, mesmerizes. Turning ordinary, extra-ordinary natural, super-natural unreal twisted into mundane glazed with hopes and dreams the weave becoming...always becoming Hooker on the corner casts a spell gardener in the dirt casts a spell cop on patrol casting the spell soccer mom with mini-van weaves talking head on the tube weaving a spell preacher at the pulpit casting away... Weaving a web of our reality are we all not casting our spells? How else to explain the phony smile, the white lie, the public faces, the feeble words, the shuck and jive... casting, weaving, making persuasion. ~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Well I'm glad that you said it, because otherwise I would have... and I don't know if I could have put it quite so nicely into poetry. It's definitely true, people accuse others of being persuasive or manipulative just because they happen to be less subtle about it... but everyone, from the police officer to the hooker on the street corner, uses it in some way or other. Everybody's just out to satisfy their personal universe... it's why we happen to be persuasive--because we don't like a loss of control. We like the power to control every aspect of our lives, the roles that others play in it, and the feelings of the general populace towards us... it's nothing immoral, it's all a question of how good you are at causing people to think, or feel, a certain way... Nicely written, Tramp Poet... thank you as always for contributing to Sanctuary. Parasite Poets are the unacknowledged legislators of the world. |
