the last glass in the sink...
and we blame each other
for want of a drink...

We might as well be
the frost of the bite
sipping our druthers
away every night...

We might as well be
the spaces between
the dull dusky colors
of what we both mean...

We might as well be
the same that we were.

We might as well be...
at least we're insured...
