FRIENDSHIP RECEIVED We sat next to each other on a coach ride that lasted 11 hours. You were pleasant and nice and full of interesting thoughts which you gladly shared with me. We conversed in Italian which I really enjoyed. Well, a little on my part, mostly on yours. We talked amicably and easily about life, love and loneliness, death, religion, destruction happiness and joy. You even wrote me some poetry - beautifully penned words of trust and friendship, how delighted I was. There was no need to exchange contact details, for each knew that enough friendship was given and received throughout the journey. And so the coach ride came to an end and you left me with a goodbye wish, a wave and a smile. Thanks for the memories Franco, they will stay with me awhile. ~Roniece Dawson-Bruce~ |

Isn't it amazing how some people touch us ever so briefly but give us memories that just stay with us....This poem made me think of the many people who passed through my life but left a lasting mark. This is lovely, Roniece, brings back memories of friends made while traveling. I just love it when a stranger crosses my path and blesses my heart with words of wisdom. My best friend of 20 years...we met at a football game. I love your writing style...warms the heart. |
