Make the Stars Disappear

Make the stars disappear, make the moon go away
I can no longer watch how they taunt me this way
For the moon lays so gently on pillow and bed
And the stars twinkle love-light on white quilted spread

I beg of the little stars lighting the skies
Please wipe out the memories of love from your eyes
For you were the witness to love’s splendid bliss
Please undo the lullabies, un-kiss the kiss

Dear moon, will you listen to heart’s gentle plea
Please un-glisten opal white beauty on me
Un-glitter his eyes with the gems from above
Undo his caresses, unmake all the love

You two were the ones who enchanted his heart
Now please un-bewitch this, the one torn apart
Unfurl all the darkness of midnight‘s black sky
Unravel the dreams of a fool such as I

Close your eyes, little stars, bow your head, moon of grace
For shame should envelope your beautiful face
Bestow no more splendor upon this, my soul
Please un-kiss the kisses that made me feel whole

This is such an inspiring poem Elizabeth.  Sometimes we think we could do away with certain things, but love isn't one of them.  I hope love soon re-enters your heart and creating joy and happiness for you.  Beautifully written Elizabeth!

Well the poem was sad and beautiful that is for sure, and done in perfect form, but my first response is a joke of course!  I want to say, "Hey Liz, try throwing rocks up to the sky it feels way better!"

Liz,
You have such the way with words...I agree with Mysteria and jwesley...kick it around a bit and throw rocks as high as you can!
Very touching poem and written well as usual!

Mysteria, see what you did now? Eveyone's throwing rocks at my poem! I don't have the strength to throw even a little one, so I'll just have to kick.Haha
I appreciated all your kind remarks and of course our stand up comedian who makes me laugh, thank goodness,
How can anyone be a serious poet around here.
My next poem will be in a lighter tone
Thank you all so very much. You are all so dear

(tears fall down my cheeks) So very sad, sweet Elizabeth, I too pray for light to again shine through your heart and erase your heart of sour love memories and replace them with kisses that will forever make you smile! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, my heart cries out to you! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Elizabeth, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Liz, this aches with your usual beauty and classic style. You always touch me deeply and this must go into my library
You deserve love and so much more.  I am sorry for the losses in your life.

Take care,

I must always shine on you

lest you should ever forget
