Hold Out Your Hands Hold out your hands and cup the words I am about to write For they will sprout you silver wings to soar you into night The stars and moon will recognize a verse inspired by them And swirl the phrases ‘round the universe and back again The heavens love to listen to a verse of rhythmic rhyme Which stars inscroll in nighttime skies for all the rest of time Cup your hands and let the tender phrases overflow And then, my love, both you and heaven my deepest love will know Elizabeth Santos |
