hi yall.as many of you know the world of music lost a great man today.now i will admit i am fairly new to country music.i never really got into it all that much until i joined the band i am in now a couple years back.but now i love it.and my uncle that plays bass in the band is a big waylon fan.so when i rode with him to a gig he always had him playing.and after a while i really liked it.and now sadly we have to say goodbye to one of countrys best artists. we will miss ya waylon.this one is for you...

Six Strings Away

We lost a great man today
waylon jennings was his name
a true country music legend
being an outlaw was his claim to fame
he wrote about what he lived
and he lived what he wrote
he played his heart out
on every single note
just a good ole boy
and an idol to me
to bad ya seen just his hands
and not his face on tv
he will be missed very deeply
the highwaymen will never be the same
for they lost there beloved sailor
now theres blue eyes cryin in the rain
but waylon can never truely die
his soul they can never kill
cuz as long as his music is around
he is living still
we are all gonna miss you my friend
but i know your smiling down
for nothin one can hold the outlaw
so you'll always be around and around and around...

Yay, Jessie! This is a really wonderful song for Waylon. And that photo is great. Keep up the good work, Jessie. Waylon's music came from his heart, and it's obvious that's where yours is also coming from.  Thanks for sharing this farewell.

I am a country girl from what seems a life ago, they say you can take the man(woman) out of the country but you can not take the country out of the man (woman).

Such a lovely tribute to a great legend.

Seems like there is always something sad to write about, isn't there?
This is a great tribute. And I'm so glad you are feeling up to writing. I hope your arm is completely healed real soon.
Hugs

This is a wonderful tribute, Jesse. I dont know Waylon Jenning's music, but I guess I'll have to look into it now. Very nicely done.

God bless America, my home sweet home.
