Sun-drenched flowers dance
along the tranquil lake shore
Snow-capped mountains watch.
Jealous peaks long for the warmth
bestowed upon the daisies.

Dear Cheryl,
There you go again! I don't know how you keep it up. Great images, great word choices, great poem.

Cheryl, this is lovely! I've only just begun to dabble with tanka, so I'm still learning, but this is just picture perfect!

Thank you, Seymour

Nan dear, glad you liked it!

Bonnie, Thanks much and you'll probably fall in love with the format. It gets addicting.

As daisies wish for coolness from the hot noon-day sun.

Your beautiful words warm my heart in the coolness of my evening.

Noah, Glad this made you smile

Interloper, thanks for pointing out the extra syllable.

Rosepetal, I love trying to paint a mental picture with words. I saw a beautiful picture of this scene and Voila. Thanks

Cheryl
