Roosevelt She is a queen, I’m tellin’ you For everything she grows Is very, very tasty And it smells just like a rose My name is Roosevelt, my friend But you can call me “Rose” Cause roses is where I hang out As seasons comes and goes But she’s a queen, I’m tellin’ you She only grows the best And I crawl between the petals That’s my soft and snuggly nest I’m a rockin‘, rollin’ beetle Entertainin’ is my game But you can call me “Rose”, my friend Or any other name Anyway, she grows these roses That are red and pink and yellow I know she’s seen me, but she thinks I’m just a real cool fellow In fact she likes my rap routine I do it every day And then I grab a petal And I simply chomp away “YO, man, I’m the MAN You can call me Al OR Stan, ………but listen Pal if you CAN, you can call me Rose-e- VELT!…… OR Rose cause you KNOWS I’m the MAN.” That’s just a little beetle rap I’m really pretty cool That’s how I do my rappin’ thing And Mamma raised no fool She said , “Roosevelt, you’re a fool You’r ’sposed to eat and fly You don’t go rappin’ on the petals That’s the way you’re gonna die You think that you’re a “Beatle” But you’re nothin' but a bug!” Well I sure showed my Mamma I’m no slime ball of a slug I’m a rappin‘, rollin’ beetle And the lady thinks I’m sweet Cause she sees me on her roses Where I entertain and eat And she’s a queen, I’m tellin’ you She loves her Roosevelt I never knew that people So much love for beetles felt YO, man! I’m the MAN I’m the ACE my mamma dealt I’m a Beatle of a beetle You can call me Rose A VELT OR pal, you can call me AL I’m a rappin’ kind of “Beatle“ I am Rose-A- VELT, I’m the MAN! Any one can TELL…….. … Hey, what’s that funny smell , OH NO! The lady’s smarter than I thunk! It’s that darn old rose and flower spray And HERE IT COMES! k e r PLUNK! I…I…I sh..shouldaw..w..w.orn m..m..myb..b..b.body suit Liz |

This is different! And delightfully so. You've really captured a cadence and have a fine, fine poem. Kids especially would enjoy this! Thanks for sharing and by all means, try something like this again! never try to teach a pig to sing |
