My heart was beating oh so fast, As I seen his face through the glass.... There he was standing outside my door, Should I open it...I wasn't sure..... It had been sometime since we last talked, Anger between us, he had decided to walk.... He left me with a broken heart, Oh,the tears I had cried since he had gone, Telling myself,all along...I'm better off alone..... Still he looked so pitiful,staring back at me, Should I open the door,or just let him be..... My hearts' still pounding,my eyes still see, I wonder why he's here,what his reasoning could be..... My hand slowly turns the knob,as my brain kicks in, I say hello quietly,as he ask how I've been..... I say just fine,and how about you, He says okay,but I've been pretty blue..... I open the door and invite him inside, Knowing that I shouldn't,while swallowing my pride..... He enters my home,and turns to look back, He says he's glad to see me, And tells me that he's missed me so, He decided to visit at last ,for there's some things he wanted me to know..... I took a deep breath and gave him the floor, I'm listening I said,wanting to hear more..... My mind can't forget you,and neither can my heart, I've been a foolish man,I'd like a new start..... I couldn't believe the words that flowed from his lips, I knew it was time to repond..... I looked into his eyes very seriously, And started to talk as my mind rambled on..... It's a little to late for our love can't you see, I heard those words coming from my mouth..... For I am content with living alone, the head games I can do without..... I thought that I'd die when you walked out on me, But I'm doing just fine,that you can see..... Lets keep it as friends and move on in our lives, Sparing each other pain ,lets just let it be..... He started to interrupt as I continued to talk, But I said no,hear me out...this one last time.... Love is never having to say you are sorry, Unconditional love is what I'm about, And it will come to me if given time..... He slowly stood up,and moved to the door, My heart still pounding in my chest, I gave him a hug and we said our goodbye's, He walked out again,but this time I had no regrets..... ©~lewisone~2000 [This message has been edited by ~lewisone~ (01-01-2002 12:09 PM).] |

I admire your strength!! How wonderful and liberating that feeling must be.. To Let Go. Something I hope to be able to do some day!! Your emotions have been expressed so well.. and you only have more strength to gain after the pain! |

Don't totally agree with your reasoning but I do agree with your right to accept or reject someones love...obviously if two are willing to talk it out there is still hope...but if only one is willing...bye, bye love...James |

 (tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Sharon, this is so so heartwrenching, my heart cries out to you but you did the right thing, for love should always make us feel comfortable and happy! I admire your strength. I might have given him a second chance, my mind is too soft. But maybe no, if I'm sure that my heart is dead for the guy. ~Flower lasts so an hour, yet spring will brings her back to life again. |

This is a really tough decision. It is so easy to live with the devil we know, rather than the one we don't- Clarity of thought in those moments is fleeting at best. I am glad this woman (you?) had the strength to take a stand for grasping the brass ring!! (Or maybe it's a Gold ring!?!) Great piece! |
