Overnight
my teeth grew fur
my tongue swelled
from normal size...
Yesterday I was Ben Hur.
I awoke and I'm Barney Fife.

I only thought
that I knew thirst
yesterday, drinking wine--
and what was in
that shot you bought?
Was it terpentine?

And omigod, the agony,
fingers, please, type quietly,
Alka Seltzer?
Just for me?
plop plop
fizz fizz
'tis my relief.

Oh the moaning.
My, the pain.
To think I must
do this again.
Everyone
has gone insane...
Mardi Gras.
Bacchus reigns.

YAY!!! Oh my gosh, I know just how you feel, all the gumbo on this day always seems to get people excited and it gets so congested and noisy out on the French Quarter and all among New Orleans! (kiss on cheek) Wonderful tribute, sweet friend, we all love you so much, this is wonderful! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Hehehe! It seems my nights are not even half as bad as yours, though those dogs bark ever night and I can't get to sleep! LOL! This is cute, love it!

Oh darn, I knew I should have gone as you suggested, sounds like fun!  See if you can remember to take two aspirin before bed.  They sure don't help after     Yeehaw!

It's going to take a month just to get all of the glitter off of me!

But today is Lundi Gras, and tomorrow is the big day, of course, and I will be back, have to go ice down the beer, and start making a picnic lunch, WORK, WORK, WORK!!!

I'll try to do a shot for each and every one of you! (serenity exits, wearing bells and beads...)

Thanks!

ROFL serenity! Those darn hangovers. I'm not really a Mardi Gras person but I got a kick out of this anyway.

Laughing, I am HOME tonight. My son asked me to behave myself...sigh...he patiently explained how his college years could be ruined by the trauma of seeing his mother in an episode of "good girls gone wild"--

and Jamie...you are always welcome, and a note to brian b? laughing, the temperature directly corresponds to the amount of anti-freeze ingested multiplied by layers of clothing removed!

And to everyone else...wish you were here...it's truly poetry in motion! Thank you!

I think you’ve just described it perfectly there, sounds like you’re having a riot…or…are you causing one??? Hey, how many beads have you got??? lmao. My god, n’awlins is crazy enough any time of the year…I can’t imagine what it’s like at Mardi Gras!!! Ya gonna be recovered enough in a couple weeks…I may just drag you out for a drink while I’m there.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?
