my eyes are burning but you don't heal me to cry dried up river banks churning off the dust of 'try' back turned towards the whimpers like a dog on a short leash chained in the backyard isolated from the world from the one word.. 'fleas' there's nothing for you here to take anymore and anyway it's time to shake the rugs out with your sympathy we'll sell the house i'll drive away past the pastel curtains against the dirty window panes watch the flowers wilt and the dog decay corpse and bones lay heavy over my mourning my eyes are burning but there will be tears by morning |
