Spring showers give to love
Summer heat bring passion
Fall winds bring the change
Winter brings cold, a chill.

My Spring filled my heart
as Summer brought fire.
While Fall brought leaves
and Winter caused shivers.

Take away this Winter of love
for my Spring memories wane.
Let my Summer fires remain
to banish the Winter of a heart.

Countless tears of Spring
attempt to douse Summer flames.
Chilling winds of Winter try
to do the very old same.

Flee from me this chill
that invades the fire of heart.
For Winter goes away and will
bring Spring again to start.

Hello Barry

I instantly thought of the James Taylor song, "You've Got A Friend" when I read the title of your poem. There is a verse in that song that says :

Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
You've got a friend

That is one of my favourite songs and I'm a huge James Taylor fan - just thought I'd share that bit of trivia with you.

I loved your poem as I always love anything that you write.....simply beautiful!
