With Cool Jazz The street was wide in front of the stone church wide enough for the two of them standing and I van filled with flowers saw how the stones had slipped their structure to trace a face she lit with fingers marking meaning into the bewilderment of his hushed question I thought love crossed from their silent language for all I heard was cool jazz and the beat of my accelerator Coming down my watching found them again still facing off beside the car their hands on each other’s cheeks holding locked eyes of youth and new and forgive passed between them into just a smile of me with cool jazz |

This is soooo marvelous!! I don't think I could pick a part out of this piece that I like better than another - the entire thing flows and rolls just like cool jazz. You deserve a standing ovation and balloons! ...and her crown was formed by the ice in her eyes |

A little explanation: My husband and I own a flower shop...I do a lot of flower deliveries and also alot of watching. This scene between the couple in the poem was something I saw on one of my runs...up the street they were mad, down the street in love...go figure! Nancy, Noah, Snow pants and Ice Queen..thank you so much for your wonderful replies! |

saw how the stones had slipped their structure to trace a face she lit with fingers marking meaning into the bewilderment of his hushed question I thought love crossed from their silent language for all I heard was cool jazz ====================================== holding locked eyes of youth and new and forgive passed between them ========================================= no need to explain....it twas all there in classic Martie style ... and? your poetry is "cool jazz" kiss me a carnation on the next run You speak to me in riddles and you speak to me in rhymes. My body aches to breathe your breath ... your words keep me alive. ~Sarah McLachlan~ [This message has been edited by Janet Marie (02-08-2002 09:09 PM).] |
