Lurk

You invade me, my mind
Over and over again
You haunt my memories
You lurk in every shadow
And around every corner
I can’t close my eyes
Without seeing your face
Feeling your hands
I can still smell your cologne
When I’m walking in crowds
And it makes me shake
Makes my skin shudder
The few and far between days
When your vision isn’t
Stalking my silent thoughts
I am reminded at night
When I wake with a cry
Slick with sweat
Afraid of going back to sleep
Back to the darkened times
To the place I can’t seem to escape.

I wasn't sure if this is ok here.. if it has to be moved to dark, go right ahead.

Well done!

*sigh* a big warm hug from me to you...I share such nightmares of this from my past..and all I can say is that with time and learning how to deal with it it becomes easier...I no longer fear the one who haunted me because I was able to forgive him...**big big hugs** My heart goes out to you, dear one.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Tara,  doing what you are doing...is the
best thing...keep writing...keep expressing..
Don't stop...and know you are in control...

barry - you're right, he's not in control - least of all because if i ever get my hands on him he will regret it for the rest of his very short, very unpleasant time with us

rosepetals25,
It seems that the lurk is a jerk. Let me at him! I hate these kind of challenges. Such needless pain and fear. Man I hate it. But it is so good that you are willing to share this. It is very well expressed and helps us who don't know those feelings to try and understand. Good job.

Well I know these feelings all too well, and you wrote it out well, but keep doing it, eventually they disappear and you gain your own control back.  Keep writing.

Thank you again everyone for stopping in.
You are so wonderful for showing so much support. I do think it is sad that so many of you can relate so well to this poem.  My heart goes out to you all as well.  It is encouraging to read your replies, to see that at some point it will get better. Hugs to you all
