The Dust Mansion

Behind the bookshelf, it grew
gossamer filaments joining each other
a spider, building a home so brand new
for his children, his wife and his mother

using the best dusty cobweb glue
in the shadows, his work was a hassle
but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do
afterall, a man's home is his castle

at the intersection of darkness and dust
a great neighborhood for the kids
in this secret shadowy eclave of must
a cryptic location, well hid

in his own little piece of the dark
a home woven by Mr. Spider
as a father and husband he makes his mark
weaving his web ever tighter

an entryway floor of fancy tile
a modern, up to date kitchen
a mansion of dust in the latest of style
a website of the finest tradition

Lyra,

You never stop coming up with excellent poems. I enjoyed reading this and found myself looking for cobwebs under my computer stand...really!

Lyra,
A typical tongue in cheek but well done. Enjoyed.

welcome to my website said the spider....I was studying once and learned that the cobwebs return after dusting unless you also kill the spiders. lol. The things you learn.
Their were no flies on this write.

Thanks Floria...doesn't that spider look like the essence of evil?  It was more fun to post the picture than the poem!
Sorry I scared you!

Thanks so much for that lovely compliment, Pepper....I just like to write about things that occur in real everyday life....
Unfortunately....there are spiders
Fortunately...they are fun to write about.

Thanks so much, Sy.  I'm glad you enjoyed the poem.  I wonder if Mr. Spider did?

Thanks Noah....I really didn't think this was so creepy, afterall....it was about a little family...even if they were all spiders....at least they had decent family values...and they also had a beautiful home.

Thank you so much, Juanita...but I have been in your house and I didn't see any building materials for spiders.
Your house looked nice and clean to me.
